SOLRA & ALKINA's PUPS

Our First litter of six puppies was born on the 7th of November 2017 to Alkina & Solra. Their litter names were of a celestial bodies starting with "A"

Below are some photos taken on our property of the first 8 weeks in the lives of Alpha, Astro, Aries, Ara, Aquilla & Ariel.

Below are some more recent photos of our first "A" litter enjoying their lives out in the world, with their adoptive families, in their new homes.

Important Note:
When you first bring your Puppy home you CANNOT put it on the ground in a public space.
Only after the third vaccination can you put them ON the ground in public areas. You should CARRY them, or take them in the car, when you go out, for example to pick up the kids from school. This is so that they become acclimatised to their new environment and life but … DO NOT let them meet other dogs as yet. These precautions are to prevent your PUPPY from contracting Parvo and/or Canine Distemper which are common viruses (especially in Sydney) that can be FATAL

SOCIALISATION & ENS
-
All Puppies are given Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) daily for the first 3 weeks. This important task is mostly done by my youngest son. It has been shown that later in life it helps them cope better with stress, be better problem solvers as well as making them physically healthier.
-
After this first three weeks they also get to spend a lot of time, weather permitting, outside enjoying the fresh air & sunshine allowing them to enjoy interacting with the natural environment.
-
Altogether the ENS program together with environmental enrichment and socialisation means that after they are 8 weeks old they will be well adjusted, happy, confident little characters ready to leave to their forever homes.
GENETICS
-
This first cross F1 generation (Filial1 as the geneticists call it) will be intermediate in characteristics to both the parent breeds and the offspring will all resemble each other.
-
The sire Solra is a very dark apricot to red miniature poodle giving all the pups a rich gold to chestnut colouring. He also passes on his more hypoallergenic low-shedding coat making the pups more suitable for people suffering allergies since they will shed less fur and therefore produce less of the stuff that triggers allergies, such as dander and saliva.
-
Since all Puppies are F1 Spoodle crosses from two purebred, genetically screened, parents. That means they profit from what is referred to as HYBRID VIGOUR (or for the geneticists – HETEROSIS). This is the term used to describe the burst of fertility, good health and growth that is seen in the progeny when two unrelated breeds are mated.

All our pups are well-socialised, healthy, with the happy friendly temperament that is one of the Spoodles main characteristics see
